CREED II Trailer

Adonis is ready for another round in Creed II, and somehow even more family history is about to hit him in the face.

After the rousing success that was Creed, it’s no surprise to see the Rocky franchise expanding on what it does best: family, rivalries, and the unending pull of the ring. It’s Ivan Drago popping up again this time, bringing his son Viktor in tow and setting up a second generation battle that proved deadly for the fathers.

Yep, that means Dolph Lundgren is back and in another showdown with Sylvester Stallone, if only from the side of the ring. This is still Michael B. Jordan‘s movie, after all, so the old rivalry will have to take a backseat to the young gun’s troubles. Those mostly seem to revolve around Adonis’ growing family, as he and Tessa Thompson’s Bianca now have a child of their own. All of them know that boxing is a punishing sport, and facing down the reality that it took Apollo Creed’s life is sure to bring up contentious questions.

The only major loss for the sequel is unfortunately a huge one, with director Steven Caple Jr. taking over from Ryan CooglerCaple Jr. doesn’t have a strong history to back up this career leap, but then neither did Coogler before Creed.

All the other pieces are in place for a good showing, though, so besides seeing how Caple Jr. will handle the pressure, the only other question to ask is whether Viktor or Adonis will break.

Creed II is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and stars Michael B. JordanSylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson. It will be released in the US on November 21st, 2018 and in the UK on November 30th, 2018. For international release dates, click here.
