CLERKS III Trailer

The whole gang is back together for Clerks III, the latest from writer/director Kevin Smith.

Decades later, Dante and Elias are still convenience store clerks. They still watch movies, run their mouths, and play hockey on the roof. But when time starts catching up to them, they decide to finally do something: make a movie.

This looks like a film that knows precisely what it is. Back in 1994 Clerks became a cult classic among slackers, and now three films into the world that made his career Smith isn’t about to abandon his core audience. Slackers will be slackers, and Dante and Elias are still slackers. This is an opportunity for longtime fans get to tune in for more of their antics, even if they are still up to the same old stuff.

Of course, that means the whole core cast is back. Jeff Anderson and Brian O’Halloran return as the titular clerks, as does Clerks II addition Rosario Dawson. Also unchanging is Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Smith, respectively). And after a long career in Hollywood Smith can pull all sorts of famous people for cameos, which this trailer shows off in full force.

But it doesn’t look like Clerks III is about the changes that have come to Smith and company over the years. It’s more focused on how little has changed, and it looks like they want to wallow in nostalgia.

Clerks III is directed by Kevin Smith and stars Jeff AndersonBrian O’Halloran, and Rosario Dawson. It will be released in the US on September 13th. For international release dates, click here.
