A young boy befriends a mythical Chupacabra and has to protect it from the outside world in Netflix’s live action Chupa.
13-year-old Alex (Evan Whitten) flies to Mexico to meet his extended family. Not long after he discovers the little chupacabra cub. Demián Bichir plays the grandfather’s who’s barn houses the adorable creature.
But there are others with darker intentions looking for Alex’s new friend, including Richard Quinn (Christian Slater).
I’d say it’s about time we have a movie about a chupacabra and this looks like a mash up of E.T. and Pete’s Dragon– in other words, I’m all for it.
Chupa is directed by Jonás Cuarón and stars Christian Slater, Demián Bichir, Evan Whitten. It will be released on Netflix on April 7th 2023.
