It’s less than a week to go for the big event of the Academy Awards! On March 2, the 86th Academy Awards will take place, presented by Ellen DeGeneres. The event usually takes place a week earlier, but was scheduled a week later to prevent broadcasting conflicts with the 2014 Winter Olympics.

A few weeks ago I was looking for some sort of schematic overview of what a film production looks like, and I found something spectacular, created by Anton29 on Deviantart.com. Left click on the infographic and select “open in new tab/page” to see it in its full glory!
Another week, another cinema. This is the Castro Cinema in San Fransisco, CA, USA. It’s a classic beauty, isn’t it?
Ah, the weekend’s on our doorstep once again. Here’s a beautiful cinema for you: This is the Cinémathèque Française in Paris, France:
Alfonso Cuarón has been getting a lot of award attention for his most recent movie, Gravity (2013) as of late. It has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards (including Best Picture, Best Director for Cuarón and Best Actress for Sandra Bullock), and was already awarded with seven Critics Choice Awards and a Golden Globe for Best Director. I haven’t been fortunate enough to see it yet though I can’t wait!

Quite a few people asked me now: how do criminology and movie combine and how did I do it? This post is for all of you who’ve been wondering.
I came across this video today (directed by Lyle Lindgren) and it pretty much knocked my socks off. It’s a tribute to Breaking Bad and Walter White. The mashup of the music and soundbites from the series is amazing, the way it’s filmed is great and I love how they spray-painted on “crystal” (I take it’s acrylic glass but still, pretty awesome).
