BULL Trailer

An unlikely pairing leads to life changes in Bull, the narrative feature debut of co-writer/director Annie Silverstein.

Abe is an aging rodeo man, picking up whatever jobs he can to keep the life he loves going. Kris has no clue where she’s headed, but her teen years of partying and getting into trouble isn’t setting much up. While Abe is gone she breaks into his house and trashes the place, and he’s not the type to let that slide. He does let her pay him back by doing odd jobs, and this meeting at life’s crossroads proves revolutionary for both.

With strong reviews out of the Cannes Film Festival, Silverstein seems to have a calling card with Bull. She’s made some documentaries and shorts in the past, but nothing that would attract the kind of attention this meditative western has. The genre is in a mini-resurgence of late, and this film looks to build on that momentum.

The movie is also a chance for Rob Morgan to get a rare lead role, having spent most of his career bouncing around in television and supporting parts. That lengthy experience should help him guide newcomer Amber Havard, though, as their relationship seems to be the key to this movie. If they can make their odd pairing work, then Bull could be something worth seeking out.

Bull is directed by Annie Silverstein and stars Rob Morgan, Amber Havard, and Yolonda Ross. It will be released in the US in theaters and on VOD on March 20th, 2020. Further release dates are not currently known.
