BRAD’S STATUS Trailer

Brad’s Status is an upcoming comedy by Mike White about Brad (Ben Stiller) and Troy Sloan (Austin Abrams), a father and son who set out on a cross country trip to visit a number of colleges before Troy has to decide which one he wants to attend. As Brad and Troy visit colleges Brad starts to wonder about the choices he’s made since leaving college and whether he’s happy about having a job that is idealistic but not very successful in the traditional sense.

During the trip Brad decides to take some time out to visit a few of his former college friends, all of whom have gone the opposite way by taking jobs that are highly financially successful, living life in the fast lane while Brad went the traditional route of having a modest but stable, morally fulfilling job and a family.

In today’s culture of people constantly showing their supposedly perfect lives on social media, there will be plenty of people who can relate to Brad feeling a bit jealous of his friends who seem to have it all. Given the fact that this film was written and directed by Mike White, a writer who has shown he can write both comedy and drama, it’ll be interesting to see what the balance between the two will be in this film.

Brad’s Status is directed by Mike White and stars Ben Stiller, Austin Abrams, Jemaine Clement, Jenna Fischer, Michael Sheen and Luke Wilson. It will be released in the U.S. on September 15th, 2017 with an as of yet unknown U.K. release date. For international release dates click here.
