It’s hard to believe it’s been seven years since the release of the first Fifty Shades of Grey novel. As the trilogy of books has taken the world by storm people have been surprised by how many different kinds of people are fans of the franchise. Book Club is a film about a group of older women (Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen) who find themselves reading the book as part of their monthly book club. Once they read the book, they all decide to put themselves back out there. As they are a bit out of practice as far as dating goes, this causes all sorts of awkward situations.
Book Club looks like a continuation of the recent trend of older stars getting together and putting out projects such as the Netflix series Grace and Frankie or films like Ruth and Alex and Our Souls at Night. It’ll be exciting to see a cast that is to acting what the Avengers are to superheroes in a film that seems to say getting older is okay as well as never give up on love.
Book Club is directed by Bill Holderman and stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen. It will be released on June 1st, 2018 in the U.K. and May 18th, 2018 in the U.S. For international release dates click here.

Hi all, I'm a 27 year old Dutchman. I'm a big fan of films and music. I enjoy writing about short films as well as films from the silent era, animated films, (conspiracy) thrillers, independent films, sci-fi and westerns.
