Blockers is an upcoming comedy about Mitchell (John Cena), Hunter (Ike Barinholtz), and Lisa (Leslie Mann) – three parents on a mission. When they notice one of their daughters has left her laptop open they discover their daughters have made a sex pact. As it turns out their daughters, Julie (Kathryn Newton), Kayla (Geraldine Viswanathan) and Sam (Gideon Adlon), have a plan to lose their virginity on prom night. Naturally Mitchell, Hunter and Lisa decide to do everything in their power to c*ck block them causing all sorts of hilarious situations.
Blockers looks like a fun film full of humour based around the generational gap, because as we all know, parents just don’t understand everything their kids do and vice versa. I’m sure some of the humour will be quite raunchy, as witnessed in the trailer, but I suppose that’s par for the course when you’re dealing with this kind of subject matter, especially when a film is co-produced by people like Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Blockers is directed by Kay Cannon and stars John Cena, Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz, Gideon Adlon, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, June Diane Raphael and Hannibal Buress. It will be released in the U.S. and the U.K. on April 6th, 2018. For international release dates click here.
