BLINDSPOTS PODCAST EPISODE #22: WILD AT HEART & KALIFORNIA

Film Inquiry presents Blindspots with Jake and Kristy. In this new podcast series, Film Inquiry staff members and fast friends Jake Tropila and Kristy Strouse will each recommend a film they like that the other person has not seen. They will then watch the other person’s selection and come together to discuss their thoughts and reactions to both films. For those who seek hidden gems and new findings in the world of cinema, this is the podcast for you.

On an all-new Blindspots, Jake and Kristy celebrate their tenth episode milestone with another special double episode! To coincide with the holiday of Saint Valentine, they explore four films of eternal longing and unrequited love. First, they take a look at Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s 1847 novel, Jane Eyre. Then, they swoon over the spellbinding masterpiece that is Wong Kar Wai’s In the Mood for Love. They follow that up with Drake Doremus’ 2011 Sundance winner about the struggle of a transatlantic relationship, Like Crazy. They then bring things home with Jim Jarmusch’s tale of vampiric ennui with Only Lovers Left Alive. It’s an episode of hushed secrets, noodle shops, and dual helpings of Anton Yelchin and Mia Wasikowska. Enjoy.

The music in the episode is from the film “In the Mood for Love.”
