BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC Trailer

Everyone’s favorite aging rockers try to fulfill their destiny in Bill & Ted Face the Music, the long-awaited continuation of the Bill & Ted series.

It’s been over thirty years since Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan found out their music would save the world, but last we saw them they were still airhead youths spending more time adventuring than plucking out rad tunes. Now they’re middle-aged men with families in tow, and the prophesied song that inspires a utopian society remains unwritten. Realizing their window is closing, they have two choices: figure out how to write the song or travel to the future and steal it from themselves. Guess which one they choose?

The blend of slacker comedy, time travel, and rock music made Bill & Ted an iconic duo in the late ’80s and early ’90s, and they’ve only continued to rack up fans since. A return to this silly world is about the only revival I’m 100% down for, especially since series writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon returned to craft this third entry. Dean Parisot is the hired gun brought on to direct, who has no affiliation with the series previously, but those writers should be enough to keep the series milieu intact.

And, of course, the return of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as Ted and Bill, respectively. You can’t make another Bill & Ted without Bill and Ted, and thankfully these two seemed eager to take up their guitars again. Also returning is William Sadler as Death and joining the series is Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine as their daughters.

But who cares about details. This is about the excellent return of Bill & Ted, and you probably already know if you’re down for that or not.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is directed by Dean Parisot and stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. It will be released in the US and the UK on August 21st, 2020. For further release dates, click here.
