A24’s newest gives us a terrified Joaquin Phoenix in Ari Aster‘s horror Beau is Afraid.
There isn’t a lot to be discerned from the bizarre and bold trailer but it looks like Beau (Joaquin Phoenix) is trying to get to his mother’s but unexpected events keep him from reaching his destination.
The details are slim but it teases multiple generations, a stellar cast, and a strange journey that only Aster could create. After his last two films, I’m excited to see where this one is headed.
Beau is Afraid is written and directed by Ari Aster and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey, and Amy Adams. It will be released in theaters in the US on April 21st. For international release dates click here.
