It’s a fun, fun, fun, bright and pink world full of Barbies and Kens in Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie.
Barbieland is full of good-looking people, a Barbie dreamhouse, convertible and roller blades. It’s basically the most popular aisle at the toy store in the form of a world. But, one Barbie in particular (Margot Robbie) and her beau Ken (Ryan Gosling) decide to head out of their comfortable surroundings and into the real world.
The trailer looks like the star-studded cast is having a great time and here’s hoping it’ll be contagious to the audience. I’m still not entirely sure what this is about, but that’s part of the intrigue.
Barbie is written by Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig (who also directed) and stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, and Will Ferrell. It will be released in theaters in the US on July 21st, 2023. For international release dates click here.
