BARBARIANS Trailer

A dinner party spirals out of control in Barbarians, the feature debut of writer/director Charles Dorfman.
On the cusp of owning a house in the country, Adam and Eva invite their friends Lucas and Chloe over for dinner. The night evolves from a dinner party, to a pregnancy announcement, to a potential rift between the couples, all of which is stressful enough before a group of masked attackers show up. Suddenly under attack, the group must band together to survive the night, even as they’re unsure what the lives they’re fighting for will be like tomorrow.
The film premiered at Fantastic Fest, a genre festival that feels like the perfect place for a thriller that has starkly political undertones. Wounds both emotional and bloody abound in the trailer, promising a tricky balance for first-time filmmaker Dorfman to pull off. The good news is that the response from its festival showing was glowing, indicating that he was able to make the thing work.
Certainly helping him is his strong central cast, with the central four being played by Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Tom Cullen (Weekend), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace), and Inès Spiridonov. They appear to be the only people in the film other than the masked intruders, so it makes sense they gathered a cast capable of carrying a movie (and willing to get smeared with lots of blood).
Barbarians is directed by Charles Dorfman and stars Iwan Rheon, Tom Cullen, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Inès Spiridonov. It will be released in the US in theaters and on-demand April 1st. Further release dates are not currently known.
