Anomalisa is the upcoming film by screenwriter-turned-director Charlie Kaufman, who is famous for writing scripts for great (and quirky) movies such as Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless MindAnomalisa is, interestingly enough, a stop-motion film.

It tells the story of Michael Stone, who writes books about costumer service, and struggles with his inability to connect to people. One night, while on a routine business trip, he meets a stranger who changes his world view, and experiences something extraordinary.

Anomalisa is written and directed by Charlie Kaufman and co-directed by Duke Johnson, it features the voices of David Thewlis as Michael, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lisa, and Tom Noonan as “everyone else”.

Anomalisa has been screened at many film festivals throughout 2015 and was incredibly well-received. It gets a limited release in the U.S. on December 30, 2015, and gets wide release in January 2016. The U.K. won’t get to see Anomalisa until March 11, 2016. Check here for international release dates.

I know many people are eager to see Anomalisa, are you, too?
