ANNABELLE COMES HOME Trailer

You can’t contain the doll in Annabelle Comes Home, the latest in the Conjuring universe.

If you remember the demonic doll that wreaked havoc in two previous films, you might question why veteran paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren would ever bring the thing home. The couple arrogantly think they can contain the evil attached to Annabelle, which they do until some curious babysitters prods their kid into giving them a tour of the cursed artifacts room. Stupid teens are no match for the powers in that place, so all hell breaks loose pretty quickly. With madness at home and their own kid in danger, the Warrens have their work cut out for them.

The film marks the directorial debut of Gary Dauberman, a longtime writer for the Conjuring movies. That should give him a good handle on what makes these movies tick, but taking on such a stylistically distinctive series will be a big test of his directorial skills out of the gate.

He’s working with series staples Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as the Warrens, though, so at least there will be a couple steady presences in front of the camera. Taking over the role of their kid, Judy, is red-hot child actor Mckenna Grace, who has impressed in movies as varied as Gifted and The Haunting of Hill House. The babysitters are played by less experienced young actors Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife, but with so many secure pieces around them, they and the movie as a whole should bring the scares.

Annabelle Comes Home is directed by Gary Dauberman and stars Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman, and Katie Sarife. It will be released in the US June 26th, 2019 and in the UK on July 12th, 2019. For international release dates, click here.
