ADIRA Trailer

If there is a universal desire in this world, it’s for our children to live a good life. No matter how you define good, the possibility of this seemed remote for Jewish families during World War II, forcing many parents to make desperate choices to keep this hope alive. And so there was a generation of lost children, boys and girls who had been flung to the wind after all other options were taken away. Their stories serve as apt jumping-off points for anyone wanting to explore the bond between families, and that deft blend of theme and plot has allowed Adira to expand beyond its modest beginnings.
Shot in and around Kansas City, Missouri, the trailer for Adira puts this grand scope on full display. Because the holocaust is such well-trod ground, it’s necessary to have a bigger idea like this in mind if you’re telling these stories, and the writing and directing team of Irene Delmonte and Bradley J. Lincoln clearly recognized this need. They’ve paired their story with a large visual style – in interviews, they’ve revealed that utilizing period-appropriate museums and exteriors were instrumental to getting the feel of the film right.
Adira is directed by Irene Delmonte and Bradley J. Lincoln. It stars Andrea Fantauzzi, Seth Andrew Macchi, Jeffrey Staab, and Christie Courville. It will be released in the U.S. in 2016. Further release dates are not known at this time.
