A QUIET PLACE PART II Trailer

Shh, A Quiet Place Part II is coming.

After the first movie became an unexpected smash hit, it’s hardly a surprise that we’re revisiting the Abbott family. Most of them survived that first adventure with noise-sensitive aliens, but it left the mother and three kids without a safe place to hide. They will have to rely on their wits and a new pair of survivors to keep going, but new people brings new information about what happened as the invasion went down, some of which might not bode well for their future.

While obviously no longer starring, John Krasinski is back as writer and director. This gives him the chance to expand on the insular world he set up in the first movie, and hopefully he can do that without losing the rattling suspense he mastered. Quiet horror won’t be as surprising this time around, but the new world should give him a chance to add layers to what he already knows works.

Also returning is the core acting family: Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. The newcomers to the franchise are Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou, and while we don’t know how precisely they will fit in with the preexisting cast, both are seasoned and welcomed additions to any movie.

Expanding on an established world is always a bit of a gamble, but with Krasinski still in charge it’s reasonable to expect Part II will retain what sent a chill through our spine in A Quiet Place.

A Quiet Place Part II is directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. It will be released in the US and the UK on March 20th, 2020. For international release dates, click here.
