Tom Hanks plays the titular character, the peppery neighbor in A Man Named Otto.
Otto (Tom Hanks) is a grieving widower who doesn’t seem to get along with the people in his area. When a young family moves in he becomes close to the pregnant Marisol (Mariana Treviño) making him realize life may not be done with him after all and that there are human connections to be still made.
The trailer shows the softening of Otto in what looks to be an emotional cinematic experience, proving that even when Tom Hanks tries to be ill-tempered he still comes across as endearing.
A Man Named Otto is written by David Magee, directed by Marc Forster, and stars Tom Hanks, Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. It will be released in theaters on January 13th in the US. For international release dates click here.
