WALLACE & GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL TRAILER 1
reminder: write a bio here that'll make you sound cool.…
The chicken is back. And we should all be very….. very….. afraid. This is the first trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
In the 2nd feature-length outing of the classic animated characters, Gromit grows concerned that Wallace has become too dependent on his inventions. When Wallace invents a new smart gnome, it suddenly goes haywire and begins destroying the town. As Wallace proclaims his innocence, Gromit must uncover the mastermind intent on ruining Wallace’s reputation once and for all.
Who could it be? With the most over-the-top dramatic reveal….. it’s Feathers McGraw out for revenge!
The Wallace & Gromit series was applauded for its short films and relative simplicity. The 1st feature-length movie took more of a fantastical approach to the characters, so it’s nice to see this sequel returning to a simpler plot (albeit definitely stretched to fill a whole movie). It suggests faith in the base product and enduring love for these two characters.
Which brings us to the return of Feathers McGraw. A frankly one-dimensional villain that the internet essentially latched onto and deemed the most dastardly evildoer in all of cinema. And frankly, the creators have embraced the meme, giving McGraw a much more epic supervillain-esque entrance. I love that. In an era where fandom informs long-running franchises more than ever, it’s nice to see a creative team acknowledge the character’s place with fans even if it’s not what they intended.
Turning McGraw into a genuinely evil bastard is an easy ask. So if Netflix’s doesn’t drop the ball, they’ll have another acclaimed entry in the long-running series under their exclusive belt.
Directed by Aardman Studios’ Nick Park, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will release worldwide on Netflix on January 3, 2025.
