TED 2 Trailer: I apologize for my 5 year-old child

So a Teddy Bear walks into a bar and the bartender catches him. The bartender says “no minors”. Teddy responds “does it look like I have a hard-hat…or black lung, or other inherent health risks associated with digging in an enclosed space.” Blindsided by this reaction the bartender tries to find his words. “**** you” leaves Teddy’s lips before the words can be found. With a sneer, he takes two Heinekens and grabs some woman’s posterior before exiting. Five seconds later he returns, gives the bartender the “finger” and takes another beer. That is my interpretation regarding the first Ted movie upon introduction to it. Or a Family Guy episode. Either way, this is a trailer review for Seth McFarlane’s Ted 2
Directed by and starring as Ted is Seth McFarlane in one of his many impressive voices. Notable collaborators include the Amanda Seyfried and Mark Wahlberg. The lovable Teddy bear comes back to the big screen to prove he’s a person in the eyes of the law. Seyfried takes up the mantle of female lead in place of Mila Kunis as Ted’s attorney, Sam L. Jackson. The point of it all being that Ted needs to contribute to society outside of pranks and jokes you shouldn’t tell your mom.
If you like Family Guy or American Dad, there’s a 99% chance you will love this movie. It certainly has the humor including scenes where Marky Mark mixes it up with sperm samples. The diner scene also has its moments. Anyone capable of throwing a cookie crisp into an opening that small is basically Luke Skywalker during his attack on the death star. Something else to take notice of is that they’re selling Ted like a drag of Mary-Jane by using the tag “#LegalizeTed” to promote the movie. It’s also apparent that the lettering is cannabis green. I don’t know if that says something about Ted’s demographic.
There’s a sense of expectation when it comes to a Seth McFarlane production. He’s talented and has his own brand of comedy that has influenced a good number of folks. It’s geared toward those who like bathroom humor and that’s fine. Fart jokes are an art form. Critiqued as a trailer, it seems pretty average but at least it’s not another reboot. Oh, and Flash Gordon returns. That’s some good nostalgia.
Ted 2 comes out in U.S theaters June 26th 2015 and U.K theatres July 10th 2015. For a list of worldwide release dates, click here.
