SNOW GIRL AND THE DARK CRYSTAL Trailer
After watching Chinese movies for 20 plus years, I never expect a complete plot. It’s always more about some human truth, philosophical belief about the way the world works or an awesome visual spectacle. I’m leaning toward awesome spectacle in this instance. The upcoming trailer centers around legendary hero Zhong Kui as he walks heaven, earth and hell to save his countrymen and his lady-love. First thing you notice here are the excellent production values. Everything looks exceptionally detailed and visually gratifying. If anything, it seems worth a matinee viewing. It also comes with a lukewarm English title: Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal.
Directed by Peter Pau and Tianyu Zhao, it stars Bei-Er Bao and Bingbing Li. You can expect a limited release for the U.S February 27th 2015. For a list of international release dates, click here.
